It's another beautiful day in San Diego!
And I am pleased to invite you out to another beautiful whiskey tasting!
Please join me this Tuesday, July 18th as I will be taking us on a tour through the major distilleries of Ireland!
Upon your arrival, you will be greeted with a handcrafted welcome Old Fashioned. From there, we will be tasting and talking our way through the Teeling Small Batch, the Bushmills Black Bush, the Connemara Peated Single Malt, and the Redbreast Lustua!
Teeling Small Batch, produced by (you guessed it!) the Teeling distillery, is the first new whiskey to be coming out of Dublin, Ireland in over 125 years. It is also, interestingly, finished in rum casks, lending to an extremely unique flavor profile.
Bushmills Black Bush, also hailing from a distillery of the same name in Northern Ireland, combines a high amount of malt whiskey matured in former Oloroso Sherry casks, with a sweet, batch-distilled grain whiskey.
Connemara Peated is currently the only peated whiskey available out of Ireland and is produced by the Cooley distillery on the western coast of Ireland. Since it's opening in 1987, Cooley distillery has been known for it tendency of pushing the envelope of innovation, and this whiskey is no exception.
The Redbreast Lustau hails from the Jameson/Old Midleton distillery in County Cork, southern Ireland and is their newest addition to the Redbreast family. Born of a unique collaboration between the Bodegas Lustau and the Midleton Distillery, Redbreast Sherry Finish Lustau Edition is initially matured in traditional bourbon and sherry casks for a period of 9-12 years. It is then finished for 1 additional year in first fill hand selected sherry butts that have been seasoned with the finest Oloroso sherry from the prestigious Bodegas Lustau in Jerez.
This tasting with start at 8PM and cost $30 per person.
See you Tuesday!
