Honey bee colonies can consist of tens of thousands of individual bees, and yet they seem to act with a single focus. How does such a large group of organisms reach consensus, or alert each other to danger? How do they spread news that one of their ranks has found a good food source?

Join us for a look inside the complex ways that honey bees communicate with Dr. Heather Broccard-Bell, a postdoctoral fellow at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD), and beekeeper Hilary Kearney, owner of the San Diego-based company Girl Next Door Honey.
