In the months to come, in order to protect and defend our communities, we will need to maximize our potential as community leaders and advocates. Come along to our National City Community Briefing and harness your potential as an advocate on Monday, August 28th.
Join us to learn how to defend immigrants' rights; ensure police transparency and accountability; and build people power to advocate for equity, civil rights, and justice.
As a result of community leaders coming together and working alongside the ACLU of San Diego & Imperial Counties, our campaigns have had successes including:
The City Council of National City passed a resolution to protect the immigrant community and to support SB54, the California Values Act, which would prevent local law enforcement from being deputized as immigration officers.
Together, we hope to win many more victories as we lobby for bail reform, push for transparency and accountability from the County Board of Supervisors, fight for policing reform, defend protestors’ First Amendment rights, and advocate for immigrants’ rights and well-being.
