Wednesday, August 23: 6pm – 7:30pm
National City Aquatic Center at Pepper Park, 3300 Goesno Pl, National City, CA
Walker is currently in the process of developing an artwork concept for a temporary public art project inspired by the Port’s maritime industries. As part of his research, the community is invited to participate in an interactive charrette, share their input on the upcoming project, meet the artist and learn more about his work. During this interactive Open “Wrap” Session, community members will participate in a sculptural and photographic exchange, becoming co-authors and part of the artist’s conceptual development process. Once finished, the multi-site artwork will be on view at the Tenth Avenue Marine Terminal and National City Marine Terminal for approximately one year, beginning in mid-2018.
