Mark your calendars! Surfrider San Diego is hosting its 26th Annual Paddle for Clean Water event on Sunday, September 24th from 8:30am-12pm in Ocean Beach. Grab your board and friends and come out to paddle around Ocean Beach Pier to show unity and bring awareness about the threats to clean water!
As part of the festivities, there will be a donation-based yoga class led by Indie Yoga at 8:30 am, free breakfast for all paddlers, guest speakers, live music provided by Mike Pinto, and a RAFFLE!
We will also be leading a Beach Walk, where we will discuss the geology, geomorphology, and the beach processes of the local coastal zones, as well as the anthropogenic aspects (humans impact) in the area. The Beach Walk will be guided by Dr. Frederico Scarelli (Ph.D. in Geoscience and Environmental Science) at 9am!
Individuals or teams can help raise funds to support clean water initiatives in San Diego County by going to give.surfridersd.org/campaign/paddle-for-clean-water/c133950.
All money raised will fund a Blue Water Task Force — a water testing, education, and advocacy program — for San Diego.
After the Paddle, Wonderland Ocean Pub and Coronado Brewing Company will be hosting our afterparty at WONDERLAND PUB from Noon-3pm! We'll have Coastwise IPA deals, swag giveaways and more!
This year's event is sponsored by Cali Bamboo and Soapy Joe's Car Wash & Oil Change with donations from Indie Yoga, Lazy Hummingbird Coffee & Tea House, Jimbo's Naturally, and many more!
See you at the pier!
