Meet local activists in the San Diego area who have dedicated their careers to social justice. Learn about their passions, what shaped their life path and gain advice about getting involved yourself!

Speakers include:

Dilkhwaz Ahmed from License to Freedom, an non-profit committed to community education, self-sufficiency and advocacy for refugee and immigrant survivors of domestic and relationship abuse in the East County and San Diego region.

Laura Moreno from Unite Here, a labor union that represents working people across Canada and the United States whose members work in the hotel, gaming, food service, manufacturing, textile, distribution, laundry, transportation, and airport industries.

Roberto Hernández, an SDSU faculty member and Chicano community organizer whose scholarship includes grassroots organizing and local activism.
