Pizza...and the art of living.
When Matteo’s life falls apart, he moves into his 1985 VW camper van and begins an odyssey. With nothing left to lose he sets out on a journey to Naples in search of his father’s heritage, and, even more so — to discover the secret of Neapolitan pizza. From street artists in Naples, Matteo discovers l’arte di arrangiarsi—the art of overcoming an obstacle, of being resourceful.
Matteo quickly learns that pizza is indeed a special form of arrangiarsi—food of the poor, made simply of flour and water. Matteo's journey to discover the secret of Neopolitan pizza becomes a metaphor that informs not just the themes of arrangiarsi but also his own story. This is a passionate film and love story about heritage, family, Naples, following a dream, and (of course) about the greatest pizza on earth.
